MILEFLASK · FOR GATES, BARNS & REMOTE VIEWS
Internet at the house.
Eyes on the gate.
Your home is online. Your gate may still be beyond home Wi-Fi. MileFlask links solar cameras to a base station, so each camera doesn’t need a cellular plan.
Planning a rural property with Starlink or another home internet service? Check the router connection, base power and camera signal path first.
TWO DIFFERENT CONNECTIONS
Your internet reaches the base.
The base links to the cameras.
Home network
Your existing internet service and router provide the connection for remote access. Check the router’s available LAN connection and any required adapter.
MileHub base station
Connect the base to your home network and a power source. Plan suitable pole mounting and the cable route. The base stores recordings locally on 64GB eMMC.
MileFlask cameras
The cameras use a dedicated long-range link to MileHub. Place each white-housed 8W solar panel where it gets suitable sunlight. No camera SIM or cellular data plan is required.
Remote viewing needs internet at MileHub and on your viewing device. On the same local network, the app can show live video and playback without an active internet connection.
Router and base station require power. Starlink hardware, adapters and service are not included. This is not Starlink certification or a promise that every router model works without configuration.
START WITH WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE
Which view is missing?
The far gate
Watch an entrance beyond the reach of ordinary home Wi-Fi.
The barn or workshop
Check activity around equipment without a camera cellular plan.
A distant outdoor area
Choose a useful camera view with a clear path back to the base.
DISTANCE IS ONLY ONE PART OF THE PLAN
Up to one mile.
Check the whole path.
Camera-to-base range in suitable open conditions. Keep a wide, clear space between the two antenna locations, including space around the direct line.
LOS required, with adequate Fresnel zone clearance. Trees, terrain and buildings can weaken or block the link. A tall pole alone cannot guarantee range.
A clear view is only the beginning.
For up to 1 mile of wireless range between your MileFlask camera and MileHub base station: LOS required, with adequate Fresnel zone clearance.

Direct path: clear
First, check the direct line.
Line of sight (LOS) means an unobstructed straight path between the two antenna locations. Here, the tree is below that line.
Concept illustration, not to scale or a coverage prediction. The Fresnel zone is a three-dimensional region around the direct path, not a visible beam. Required clearance depends on frequency, distance and the site. No mounting height or link performance is guaranteed by this animation.

A few practical answers.
Do the cameras need a cellular plan?
No. The camera-to-base link does not use a camera SIM or cellular data plan. Your home internet provider’s charges still apply. Local recording at MileHub does not require a storage subscription.
Does this extend my home’s Wi-Fi by one mile?
No. The quoted range is the dedicated MileFlask camera-to-MileHub link. It is not general Wi-Fi coverage for phones or other devices.
What if the internet goes down?
Keep MileHub and the local network powered. On that same LAN, the app can show live video and playback. Viewing from another location requires internet at both ends.
Does solar power the entire system?
No. Each camera pairs with an 8W solar panel. The router and MileHub still need power. Solar charging depends on sunlight, placement and usage.
Does it record continuously?
MileFlask uses motion-triggered recording. Do not choose it on the assumption of continuous 24/7 video recording.
What should I check for a Starlink setup?
Identify the router model, its LAN connection or required adapter, the network route to MileHub, and power at the base. Confirm the intended setup with support before installation. Starlink services are separate; ShowMo does not claim an official Starlink partnership.
